Total fluorometric amino acid analysis using fluorescamine.

A fllwrometric amino acid analyzer using fllmresramine for the assay of the full array of natural amino ac<ids including prolinc on a single column is reported. The proline determination was carried out by specific introduction of a solution of ,\‘chlorosl~ccinimide into the flow system. Single rolumn fluorometric amino acid analysis was curried out in a significantly shorter time and with a sensitivity almost two orders of magnitltde great,er than that obt nined with a cwmmericnl calorimetric, ninhydrin amino acid analyzer.
